Student Proof of Concept program

Student Proof of Concept program provides support for the University of Debrecen students to validate innovative ideas technologically and commercially, and to strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset through competence development and mindset shaping opportunities available within the SPoC program and synergistically running programs.

The involvement of students in the SPoC program contributes to the development of the university's third mission: to create a new type of opportunity to strengthen the links between university and industry and to extend knowledge transfer to new areas.

The immediate objectives of the program are:

  • to create an opportunity for students who are interested in the practical application of knowledge acquired through traditional education to develop prototypes and validate their ideas on the market;
  • to estblish the professional career of students by deepening their entrepreneurial mindset and related knowledge;
  • ​​​​​to promote the commercialization of innovative student ideas.

The supported projects aim for the testing of student ideas, the production of prototypes, technological development, analyzing market potential and other activities facilitating commercialization.

Applications will be evaluated continuously until the budget is exhausted.

The deadline for applications is 31 August 2022.

All documents and data submitted by the teams will be kept confidential by the University of Debrecen and will not be disclosed to third parties without the prior consent of the team, except to the members of the jury evaluating the applications.

The University of Debrecen Student Proof of Concept (SPoC) Fund was established within the framework of the University Innovation Ecosytem project supported by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office. The implementation of the program is coordinated by the Innovation Ecosystem Center within the University.
